About Me
I'm an Arkansas-based writer and editor with a passion for food, travel, music, literature, and anything that makes me feel at home. I've felt called to read, write, and even edit from a young age: a natural-born stickler who would once mark up my own handwritten stories.
I am an MA graduate in Professional and Technical Writing through the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, and I specialize in meticulous, fully engaged editing. As an editor, I acknowledge the importance and vulnerability of being a writer—and in turn, as a writer, I acknowledge the validity and necessity of the editor. My style is rooted in the essential relationship between writing and editing, because one cannot exist without the other.
My goal is to immerse myself, whether it be in my own writing or in yours. I work hard to edit with an appreciation for a story, while still maintaining technical precision and accuracy. I want our work to be the best it can be.
“In other venues, I have had the worst experience with an editor: my work returned to me, torn apart and marked up with a vicious red pen. Horrible. Confidence-destroying... When the editor is honorably engaged as collaborator in the process, the writer benefits—just as the birthing mother benefits from the skill and support of her midwife: The baby is the mother’s, but the birthing process is guided by the wisdom—and experience—of the midwife.”
